Default Painting My Shifter Kart

Recently bought a chassis for $50 I would say its atleast a 10 year old frame
looks good nice and straight just finished removing the paint and sprayed her down
with black primer and it looks pretty good.. But I dont want to use just flat black
I was thinking some lime green accents here and there.. maybe even getting
a pinstripe brush and putting lime green lightening bolts/zig zags on the frame.
BTW this kart will not see any race tracks just neighborhood streets.
But I was wondering what you guys think of the paint idea
and wanting some ideas. Pix commin saturday..

Not to rain on your parade, but please don't run this kart on the streets. You are asking for trouble that way. Just last year some one in San Jose, Ca did just what you are talking about. He ran into the back of a vehicle and died.

I can't believe I'll be saying this, but keep it at the track. I ran my kart once up and down the street to check a top end rebuild I did, and it was a bit unnerving. The speeds you can get up to would result in a moving violation ticket and other things.

Please reconsider.

*off soapbox*

I totally agree with safety issues of driving on road.
and driving a shifter kart in Cali sounds hella dangerous
due to large population but im in NC pretty much middle of nowhere and on a 3 mile dead end road.

Yeah, man...don't drive it on the street. A few years ago, I bombed around the neighborhood in my 80cc shifter and in no time, I was reaching for 7th gear because I had max'd it out in 6th so fast (going approx 75 mph). It was SCARY how fast it got there. Your head is at the same height as the bumper of most street cars. Did it once...will never do it again!

As for color, you could strip all the old stuff off with Jasco and keep the bare cromoly look. Looks like a secret factory frame.
