Default Couple of different questions and suggestions

I didnt want to take up a ton of different threads so ill combine alot of my questions here.

edit: forgot to add 1990 crx si here

1. **ANSWERED** anyone seen that roof "vortex" that subarus and evos have? anyone thought about making the top rear glass trim with those little spikes? i love that look on stis and evos... just wondering if anyone saw a crx with a custom trim like that before, i was thinking about doing it.

2. looking for a fairly cheap (~500) suspension setup. really not looking for a crazy racing setup but i do have a heavy foot haha. looking for a 1" drop and to be very VERY soft. i hate freeway bumps any suggestions? i heard that buying a bar going across the front strut mounts would help with the bumps too.
EDITED: to one inch, told I can't go so low and stay soft

3. anyone know where i can get some VERY LOW front seats (im 6'3" and hate that my head touchs) with little or no drilling? do not suggest s2000 seats i dont have that kind of money.

4. Another about the seats, my passenger seat is perfect, and my driver seat is in mint condition almost, there is a small rip on the left side of the driver seat that can be sown up. Now the foam on the left leg and the leg body area are sorta wasting away, can I just buy more form and fill it in? People have been telling me u can't fill the foam in...

sorry im such a noob ive just been getting more into my car that last year or so. btw yes i have searched but havnt found the answers that i want/need.

1. That's going to be a custom job. I don't know of anyone doing it. You'd probably have to get the part from Mitsubishi or Subaru and do some work on it to make it fit.

2. It is going to be difficult to find a suspension setup that lowers the car 2" and maintains a soft ride. When you lower the car, you are taking away suspension travel, so keeping a soft spring is going to bottom out your shocks on solid bumps at speed. I would recommend the Neuspeed Sports or something similar. You should be able to run stock shocks with a "sport" spring. Coilovers aren't as expensive as you'd think. You can find some decent packages for around $600. I would recommend checking out http://www.progressauto.com . For a little more, you could choose your springs rates. You could try like a 250f/250r or a 250f/300r setup.

3. I'm 6'2" and I bought some Sparco racing seats thinking they'd give me the extra head room I was wanting; it didn't work. I'm in the process of cutting up the floor to weld in lower cross braces for the seats. The stock seats sit you pretty much as low as you can go in a seat. So, you'll need to do some custom work to get the seats lower.

heres a link for your vortex question http://www.scoobymods.com/foru...=8559

and this will not do anything to improve your handling on a crx, IMO it just looks bad. but do what you like

quote-
"Great article, too bad they stopped short by saying "But they certainly weren’t harming fuel consumption..." and not really stating anything conclusive. Wind tunnel testing is still needed. for me to be convinced.

They certainly have an effect on how the yarn is blown across the car, but the impact of those changes in aerodynamics is still a bit sketchy. The bottom line is, if you like them, they probably won't hurt your performance, but the gains may be negligable.

I've see plenty of cars with expensive aftermarket wings (and some cases home-made), spoilers, naca ducts, and other geegaws that are certainly robbing the car of aerodynamic slip and incurring additional fuel consumption..."

@Lowflying
thank you for the ideas of suspension. maybe then ill just go an inch lower, ill look into it a little more.

@grog
WOW i didnt know that you could buy the little spikes alone, i thought u had to buy the entire trim in one piece. ill do some photoshop testing i guy, test this out
