Hey guys, I've been through EJ8squad, Google, Yahoo, the FAQs and haven't found anything yet. I recently got a JDM 98+spec ITR engine for my EK, and I've been wondering about the number stamped under the engine code (as seen in the pic below). It has too many numbers to be an Acura VIN production sequence, and doesn't correspond with a Type R anyway. Is it the engine's production sequence number? This question has been bothering me, any help is appreciated

its a serial number, you shouldnt expect to find anything about it through Acura, its a Japanese Honda motor

 

The whole JDM-USDM thing never even crossed my mind. Anyone know the VIN sequences for the JDM Type Rs?

The number on the block has too many numbers to be a VIN sequence, and its missing the digit for the assembly plant, unless one of the plants was designated by a number.

I know what each digit in the VIN stands for, I meant if anyone knows which production numbers were Type Rs. The FAQ for this forum lists every USDM Type R VIN production number, is there a list for the JDM Type Rs?

No. Not to my knowledge.
The USDM VIN list in the FAQ was created using carfax's database if I remember correctly. I also believe someone / a couple people wrote programs to "create" and check VINs on carfax's website to find out what VIN numbers match Type R cars.
Key point here is, this is only for USDM Type R's sold in the US.

As for a JDM carfax, I have no idea if one exists.
