Default Shaving toyo's after use possible?

New ra-1's on the way and still a chance for rain on the upcomming NASA event. Is it possible to run the Toyo's at full tread in the rain then have them shaved afterwards? Or can only a brand new tire be shaved?

I doubt you'll find anyone willing to do that. All the pick-up on a used tire would dull the shaving blade.

chris-
John Almazan (new racer to H4) had a used set of fully treaded RA-1's, mounted on the wheels. He took them to AIM 3 day's before the most recent Infineon event and they shaved it for him-with the wheels on!

So, yes Ron will do it and the tire shaving fee is still the same whether new or used, mounted on a wheel or not.

Are you racin' H2 in 2 weeks?

Cool. Guess I should just call AIM and find out huh?

No racing yet, still gotta take the license test, hopefully at T-hill comming up. I think my chances are much, much better in h2 than h1!

What engine/chassis are you going to be running in H2?

EK hatch with a JDM C5, pretty much identical to yours I think. You, me and Dave Wright have potential for some good races! H2 aka spec civic.

Yeah I think there will be 5 of us in H2 this year.

Me, Lenna, you, Dave, and His brother.

But I did not think Dave was going to run H2.

I'm looking at H2 either late in the year, or at the beginning of next year with either a B18A/B, or a B20, they're cheap, have a good amount of torque, don't require the car to weigh 2500lbs, and did I mention that they're cheap? Though all of my engine performance modification experience is with the B18C5. I'm still a tad heavy at ~2320 right now with me and gas in the car.

Due to time constraints I'm just going to pick 2 fresh tires up from AIM(today), and I'm picking up a set of used RA1's next month from someone, which should be a good portion of my el cheapo tire budget for the year.

im loving all this H2 talk.

I turned my red eg hatchback into an H2 car. Its running a B16A with Type R cams & intake manifold/throttle body. it will be out at the next race at Thunderhill w/ my dad (Liam) behind the wheel.

I doubt i'll get it to its 2280 lbs minimun (2250 + 30lbs for gussets) but i'll get close.

I can't wait to see how close the cars are with the different variety of engines and weight.

potential line up for 2008/2009.

1. AustinG ----- EG w/ B18A/B or B20 - 2200 or 2250 lbs
2. Redstone --- EG w/ B16A - 2250+30 = 2280 lbs
3. M. Uhlinger - EK w/ B18C5 - 2500 lbs
4. Lenna ------- EG w/ B18B - 2200+30 = 2230 lbs
5. Dave's bro - EK w/ ? -
6. Chris (Zook) EK w/ B18C5 - 2500 lbs

If anyone is interested ive got an white EG with JDM B18C (GSR) for sale. Lots of mods, tein coilovers, complete gsr suspension, steering rack, brakes, etc.. Perfect car for H2 just needs a cage. PM for details and a price.

hey mike & chris-

If I ever finish my DC2, I think it's gonna be in H2. It'll probably be powered by a B16 though. If I run a C5, I would have to add almost 200lbs. Then again, it could also possible be another H1 candidate. We'll see, I barely have enough $$$ for 1 racecar.

Is the coupe still getting fixed? What about your hatch?

Dave's brothers car is getting a b18b in it right now.

I don't see why dave wouldn't run H2 except for the fact of having to run 200lbs heavier.

I could drop a b16a in the car, but i am having a crap load of fun in H4 right now. And i have my eyes set on a new project to go faster.

The coupe is at the bodyshop. I dropped it off Tuesday right after the race weekend. The coupe had terrible body damage stemming back to Andrie's utah accident and of course my dad's in T10.

Luckily they were able to save the 1/4 panel, but it needed LOTS of work to fix it. The rocker panel also needed to be pulled and straightened, which was never fixed from the Utah WC TC crash. The front radiator support was a aftermarket replacement one, and crap at that. It bent really easily and was mangled after the hit. Nows there's a new Honda one on there!

Devin's civic is also at the bodyshop, but his will be done tomorrow (thursday the 28th) and his just needs new stickers and a oil change!

I'll have it back on monday or tuesday of next week. Hopefully i'll be able to take it to Brandon's and get it aligned and get all the other things done before the next race.

Jimmy.. whats the new project? Somthing for honda challenge?

I'll make it easy..

Car #5 - Graham's white EG - waiting for k20z1 and Koni 2812's to be installed.
Car #6 - Devin's blue EG Si - currently running H1
Car #7 - My dad's red EG - gonna debut at Thunderhill. H2 Spec car but gonna run H1 for now. Powered by B16A. Dyno's 154 whp!
Car #8 - Andrie's old EK Si coupe - at bodyshop getting fixed. Will be back out at Thunderhill with a whole new left side and new paint.

He also could use more power...maybe from perhaps a B20??
I know of one that's available.
