Default quick srs light question

if the srs light comes on, does it mean the airbag will not deploy on deadly crashes? yes or no?

Yes it will deploy 100% guaranteed it will deploy.. if you want you can test it out. lol

the reason i know is because my SRS light was on in my last rsx-s and i got into a car accident. The airbags still deployed.

My local dealer said it won't. I imagine it's a case by case condition though. If your SRS light is on due to a sensor/bag ignition problem, it probably won't deploy. Some RSX/EPs have a recall on the SRS system though. Call your dealer with your VIN and see if your's is included in the recall. Free diagnostic and reset FTW.

Awesome, mine has been on for quite some time, I'll have check into that when I get home.

no wayyy! well my warranty is void and i think dealer won't do it for free. i tried the method from clubrsx, my srs still remains on. i hope it'll deploy if i do ever get into accident.

So you aren't even going to try to call the dealer?

Did you look in the FAQ? There is a thread about how to reset SRS...I corrected a few of the mistakes the clubrsx thread made.

But being your car is a salvage, who knows if it'll reset correctly.

My SRS was on becuase i had changed my steering wheel to the DC5-R one and I left it disconnected. Got into an accident and my passenger airbag did deploy but of course my driver airbag didn't because it wasn't hooked up. The side airbags didn't deploy either because i wasn't hit on any of the sides of my car.

This is just an FYI for anyone, your airbags deploy depending on how you hit an object or a how the object hits you.

What do you mean? They won't do it because your car is a salvage? Because you don't need warranty for a recall.

I wouldnt worry about it.. it could be something stupid like your seatbelt bracket being loose. I took mine to a honda dealer and had them replace my seatbelts which were kinda worn/beatup and the srs light came on.. they said it wouldnt be a big deal and that the airbags will deploy fine.

i tried the paperclip for many times already. I even did it quick like you mentioned in the FAQ. Nothing solve. I drove to the acura dealership and told them my car is salvaged, then they told me they'll charge me around $140 just to diagnose then will charge me again for what ever is the problem. I told them F that shiet and walked out.
