I have a 90 HF that I am swapping beltless donor doors in from an 88. I completed the seat belt pillar conversion about a year ago, but wanted the proper door swapped as the holes left from where the 90 belt door anchor connect leak air and look incomplete.
I found suitable donor doors and put one on and everything works and latches perfect. The 90 up door hinges and retainer fashion right up. Door closes solid, however it didn't appear to seal well where the indentation and 3 holes are at the point where the upper sill anchor was. I welded the holes shut last night which should help, but I am now concerned the door jamb seal follows a different path than the 90 door does. It would appear to me the belted door bpillar area is shapped differently than the 88 at the point above the jamb latch and between the door to window body line.
Question to all you folks that are running around with non belted doors on originally door belted cars............ have you noticed this, or are you just turning up your sound system to reduce the wind noise leak at speed? I have searched volumes on this subject with no answers.
Not looking for explanation about what years and what origin crx's have door vs. pillar mount belts. I realize already this seems to be a popular answer to these types of questions.

I am disappointed nobody has anything to say. I'm very surprised nobody has come across this problem before. Swapping door belted doors to non-belted doors should be old news!
I posted in the other thread you talked about this and this weekend I am comparing my sets of doors and maybe we can get to the bottom of this. but as said anybody else want to chime in with results from a car actually road tested.
