VALVE ADJUSTMENT/VALVE LASH
i have a d16y8 and my engine began tappn really loud when cold, i have been thinking its the valve lash and need the valves adjusted. i was wondering if anyone had this prob. before and if it worked, and i was in need of the feeler gap for intake and exhaust. if anone did this or knows about this please let me know. thanks much
doing a valve adjustment on d series engine is pretty easy and u dont even need spec tool like b series does. but u might need to get a new valve cover gasket and o ring seals for the valve cover. should take less than one hour to do the job.
i only have a write up for b series. but it is similar procedure.

ive had my VC off tons of times and have never needed a new gasket. As long as you coat it with engine oil you should be fine. Heck ive never even used the sealant on the cam ends of hte gasket, and have yet to leak.
As long as your torque the bolts properly your good
