Outer CV Joint replacement
I have a 94 honda accord with a bad passenger side CV joint. I was hoping / thinking I may be able to fix it myself. Are there any speicial tools required? I want to fix and be able to give this car to my son, runs great but othere things needs addressing.
Any help is appreciated.

You would need to just change the axle. I changed the axle on my 94 Accord in December. It was my first time doing it myself. It wasnt that hard, but I was at my friend's shop where I had access to good tools.
Get a haynes manual and search on here and you will find lots of instructions. I just pulled off all the bolts that I could see holding the wheel on, then use air tool to take off the axle nut. From there, I just bang it out with an hammer and just plop in the new one and screw up everything back together.
You will need a socket big enough to open the axle nut. The brute force way to remove the ball joint is to bang it with a hammer. Just search on here and you will find tons of info.

I agree with just replacing the whole axle. You can get rebuilt ones from auto stores for about $60. It saves a lot of mess and hassle.
Otherwise, you have to remove the inner joint to get to the outer joint.
Not really hard to do, but there are some things to be careful of, like the bearings in the cages etc.
I also agree with the Haynes manual. It will give the step by step.
