Default Throttle body question

Hi there. I have been told that the trottle body on my car is knackered so I need to get a new\recon one. I have a civic 5 door 1.8 vti. Is it worth me getting anything other than the standard spec body for this car "from honda or off broken car". Can anyone recomend a good product not looking at spending hundreds though thanks in advance

If you have not modded your car much then just get another stock throttle body. What do they mean by "knackered"?

That depends on your driving. It's just more sensitive.

the stock throttle body will do just fine for you. it will be cheap, and it's going to work best for you IMO

Hi guys, thanks for the advice. Couple of bits of info for you. The garage has said that looking at the diagnostics there is a problem with the sensor on the back of the body "I believe this is part of the body and not a replaceable part". It appears that the guy who had the car before me has had a problem and has done a bit of a dodgy job on trying to fix it "he has hacked of rear sensor and replaced badly with another" the garage cleaned out the body but could not bring the revs down from 1500. Anyway for a laugh I thought I would ring Honda to get a price for the part "hey want £570 for a new throttle body" what a joke. Anyway I have managed to source one of a car that is being broke for £45 so I'll keep you posted on how I get on.
Again can'tthanks you all enough for your help, advice

Word of advice, wehn you buy the car if it comes with a Haynes manual have a thumb through to see what pages have been looked, pages turned, written on etc, I didn't and so far it's cost me nothing but time and grief!!
