B16a obd1 td-44 vs td-42
"hey guys, i have a td-42u dizzy out of a d16z6 (OBD1 SOHC Vtec). Can that be used on a OBD1 DOHC B16a Vtec (which takes a td-68u or a td-44u)? If not are any of the parts inside interchangable with a td-44u? Thanks"
This was a previous question someone else had. This is the exact question I have myself. So far I have found no answers. The reason behind this question for me is, autozone has a td 42 for $165, but they also have a td 44 for $225. When I searched Autozones website for a distributor that is compatible with the DOHC Del Sol, the 42 came up. Im just looking for someone to confirm this for me. Thanks.

well, if no one has any direct knowledge on this, I would like to hear some opinions on how accurate autozones data base is. Do you think the chances of the dizzy actually working on a jdm motor are pretty good? any thoughts? thanks
well im not too sure if anyone cares but i bought the td 42 distributor and the bolt pattern fits. however it just barely works. You cannot adjust the timing at all. So i would not advise to buy the 42. im going to return it tomorrow and spend the extra money and get the 44
