17s ona lowered car?
I have a 96 civic coupe I put a new suspension on and it lowered the car about 1 inch to 1.5 inch would 17s fit without any problems because my stock steelies hit as it as going around a turn too fast, and im thinking of getting coils and slamming it more. I searched the site a bit and didnt see anything about this year and size of rim. Thanks in advanced.
If you're rubbing with steelies sometimes, you'll probably rub the same amount or possibly more with 17's depending on what size tires to get with them.
But I suggest you go with 16's max if you want to get coilovers and slam your car. They'll ride better, and you won't have to worry about rubbing if you get the correct size tire & offset.

i had a set of 17s on my car. used 205 40 tire size. never really had a problem. sometimes the tire would scrap under the wheel well. not to often though.
well i can only go one part at a time because of my crappy job but idk if i should get the coils first or rims and im sure low pro tires are expensive and my town is horrible i can only drop my car about another inch or the bottom half of my car is gone...plus if i get just the coil springs am i going to have to get new struts because i got dropzone struts with tein s tech lower springs, will i have to get struts that have the thread around them to lower my car more or what im not too smart on parts im more of an car audio person...thanks again to the people who have helped and the others that will help more..
It depends on the offset. my 14" steelies had a 195/60/14 tire which was wider, and if you get a stiffer suspension and 17s with a bigger offset, itll tuck more so that it wont rub. And hell yeah, slam it, 17s look cool as **** and those 40 profile tires grip like you wouldnt believe, hehe.

I use 17's on all tne hondas i drive and the only real problem i've have was from turning fully to the left or right, so i changed the way i drive. putting 16's wil be like your stock rims and 17's it all depends on tires. Go to a body shop and see if somebody will bend in the inner lip for you
It really all depends on your set up. I've had 15 inch rotas that rubbed in hard turns because they were so wide and 18's that tucked rim that never touched. It all depends on width and offest and what way you wanna go with the car. But 17's can be tucked nicly and look sick as hell
what is off set? like i said im not good with parts and terms and what not i want my car slammed with nice rims but the rims i want only come in 17s and higher so i guess im going to have to get different rims i want it like an 1-2 inchs off the ground in summer and basically stock or where it is at now in winter (we get mad snow sometimes) so i need a new suspension to slam it but i want rims but i cant afford rims and tires right now
just put some small cuts on the little lip on the inside of the fender, then bend the lip up. that will clear up a little bit. friend of mines got 17's, and slammed 3" and it looks clean, oh his 93 4 door.
