Default cold air intakes

what cold air intake is going to give me more horse power for my gsr?! does the material of the pipe affect the horse power gain? and does the shape of the filter affect the horse power gian?!

um your not going to get much HP out of a intake..
Its mostly just for sound yeah companies claim there cold air intakes
create HP gains but if the throttlebody and intake ports arent any bigger
its not going to much of anything..

to steal a picture from another thread about intakes from way back:

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by JunkyardAccord &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">um your not going to get much HP out of a intake..

complete sure, there's the "sound" effect with the CAI because of the resonance. sure, you'll create more HP if you bore your throttle body (or use a Type R's) and bore your intake manifold... but still what you're saying is complete .

OP, don't listen to ignoramiouses like that of above.

a simple search for "AEM intake" in the integra (type r) forum would have yielded these results:

https://honda-tech.com/zero...age=1
https://honda-tech.com/zero...age=1
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=948820 ...TON of dyno charts!

in the R forum, there have been 3 or 4 recent threads on the BPi velocity stack used with stock integra intake arms, alone, in just the last 1-2 weeks. such as this good one: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread/2231492

the AEM CAI is hard to beat as it's one of the best bang for the buck options out there along with the BPi (or blox) velocity stack with K&N RF-1048 filter. the down side to the AEM CAI is possibly hydrolocking your car if you have a lot of rain in your area. another bang for the buck option is the "BSQ" icetake intake. it's pretty much a cheap copy of the comptech and mugen intake units. I saw an intake shootout somewhere and the comptech with the icebox won. You can do what most do, get Egay piping and get a K&N filter.

op, did you even bother searching? obviously not. try searching some time, it really does help. jomama's post is hilarious. and thats what this is, beating a dead horse. if you would search a little bit. you would know that cai is just a longer pipe than sri. cai=more money same power. sri=less money same power. hmmmm......not a hard decision from my chair.
