Default Just Picked it up Today!!!

2008 Rallyeye Red Si Coupe. I was pretty excited seeing as though it was the only one in the area for sale still. Used to have an '04 s2000 and bills got tight so I downgraded to a Grand Cherokee for awhile till I caught up.

I'll get some pics up ASAP. What's everyone doing for their first mods to these cars? Not much out there. I'm looking for looks and performance. I/H/E is nice but I'm kinda interested in the little things that will set me apart from the rest of the new Si's on the road right now.

Car's sitting pretty though. First time I stepped into the car it had exactly 1 mile on the odometer now its got a little over 30. What's the break in period for the motor (if any) and what steps can be taken to ensure it's done correctly?

break-in is roughly 750-1000 miles if you prefer to do it the slow way (i personally waited until 700) or you can just beat on it. Your car.

If you do it the slow way, I'd just keep it out of VTEC during that first mile period.

I've been on the pedal since around 130 miles and changed out the break in oil at 1100 miles and my car runs like a champ (28,000 miles now, bought it with 28.)

I don't know what the break in oil life is myself. The maintenance-minder should come on when its time for change.

Honda recommends that you don't change the oil until 5k miles.

the dealership just called to setup my first maintence at 5000 miles. they said its best for the motor for the factory honda oil to stay in there until then because of certain additives they add to maintain engine life from the first stages of break in.

what did you end up paying if you don't mind me asking? I'm in the market for one and the 08 si I test drove was $21k. I'm sure I could talk them down to $20k out the door.

$18200 out the door....with 5 year full service warranty including free oil changes/car washes. and i went back today to ask about warranty coverages with the 2nd and 3rd tranny issues. and they gave me a paper to sign saying that i would be covered 100% within my 5 year warranty period if literally ANYTHING goes wrong.

that being said, i HIGHLY recommend Honda of Tysons Corner for anyone in the Northern VA area. speak with Larry the sales manager or Paul Choi, my salesman for the car.

ummm, why?

6th gear and the final drive are the only differences.

So, if you have an si, you should know how to spell VTEC. There's a sticker that spells it out, on the side of your car.
