pfft...i had a little t28 on my stock si engine and at 8 psi it was an absolute joy. I never had any problems with it until the oil feed line got torn open somehow, (to this day i still dont know how) and my engine blew a nice hole in the side about a year and a half later. The only problem was with the stock clutch. So to answer your question, you dont need a big turbo thats number one. Heck a 25 will work too. Two CHECK your oil regularly-and i dont mean every 3000 miles. Three inspect your oil lines. Four spend the little bit more money and get an oil pressure gauge. Five buy a street clutch cause the stocker just isnt going to cut it. Six use an intercooler, its not needed but it does help....alot!

have fun!

894 days and 11 hours... Joking..

No one can tell you how long your engine is going to last, but if you build it right, and look after it well, then it should never fail you...

An EMS is Engine Management System, or yeah fuel management. Like Hondata, chrome, uberdata, hks, etc.... if your looking to do it cheap, then just invest in something like apexi or greddy e management. But i suggest you take time to search, research and re-research until you are confident and certain on your power goals or longevity goals, then go turbo and stick to your well devised plan...

Things like injectors, fuel pump, colder spark plugs, intake mani, intercoolers, good quality wastegate's etc are also good ideas when turbo'ing...

but most of all enjoy yourself.

you don't want a t3/t4 on a D15B7 in the first place. that motor would never spool that thing.

second, if you are asking what an EMS is... then your friends are right, you will blow that thing in no time.

We will not explain what's already explained in expert fasion in the Forced Induction FAQ links:

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread/1024174

To answer how long, it depends on power. 5-10psi from a straight T3 will last a long time given a good motor. Anything over 180-200whp will cause problems eventually.

X2...you need to do a lot more research and speak with people who have some kind of idea about turbo setups. Most people think they know a lot, but are really in the dark. Read the FAQ and bum around the forum for a while, you'll learn a lot in a short time.

For a stock D, if you stay in the 220-240whp range with a good tune, you should be fine. Once you learn more about turbo setups, you can easily build something that will last a long time and make good power. Take your time and do it right...that way you wont have problems.

lol.

look man, DO THE EAZY FIRST AND KEEP IT SIMPLE.......

Get a small turbo, and FMU, a well made downpipe as well as manifold, and intercooler, and a street clutch. VORTEC is what i used for the FMU, and i was using a starions intercooler...which fit very nicely. Set the turbo at a low setting and have fun with it. I never, NEVER had a problem with this setup and it was cheap and fun. It ran a best of 9.3 in the 1/8th at 8 psi on street tires. THats pretty dang respectable for a stock si motor with no other mods.

oh dont forget a dyno tune...lol

Unfortunatly my friend everyone is right... you should probably study up or pay someone to turbo it for you. I got my 90 CRX dx for free because of a blown head gasket... that could have been someone overheating it and such but they arent the stoutes things in the world... just the basics of that motor are miss fit for a turbo.... it has dual point fuel injection, if im not mistaken, and that alone will limit any sort of fun with the turbo... and your "pistons wont blow out" your head gasket will... the pistons will burn... and for all the time and money you'll end up spending... you'll be better off and quite a few steps if you swap in a B16, it will deffinatly be more reliable, and most likely just as fast.... and then you can turbo that one! Hope it helps, and deffinatly study up.

This bit of advice seems to be conflicting. How or why would someone buy an FMU and then dyno tune it. They're not adjustable...Do yourself a favor and buy a chipped P28 and run Crome. Take that combo to a good tuner and let him/her tune it for you.

I think you still have a lot of researching left to do...

you dyno it to make sure everything is in sync before anything has a chance of going wrong. If there is something wrong and you have to adjust it then its a good time to chill until you can get an adjustable fpr. Least you'll know. There shouldnt be any problems but always make sure. The chances are slim though that there will be a problem.

^^Do you have any idea how tuning a car is accomplished? Maybe in 1985 it was a good idea to tune with a FMU and adj. FPR, but in 2008, we use reliable methods like Crome, Hondata, Neptune, AEM, etc...

Ive had many turbo setups in my time with my crx. The one we are referring to was my first. IT IS A VERY SIMPLE SETUP with decent power and is a lot of fun as well as being very reliable. The man cleary has never had a turbo vehicle. In my second and third turbo setups i used the s200 with boost option plus 750 injectors, a walbro 250 pump....i can go on and on with the part list and what is needed for a "real tune" but im giving this guy the best advice i can. STAY away from the serious stuff unless you plan to throw that money out there. Go simple and you wont regret it. JUST do us all a favor and dont go b series lol. D16 is where its at!
