Default Cam Gears

have an 03 civic coupe with SOHC. i just got an aem adjustable cam gear and i was wondering what you guys are running your SOHC gears at.

Unless you're on the dyno tuning it, you should leave it be. It's not like you're going to see any gain in power with just a cam gear, anyways.

I second that! I would personally save my money because the D17 engines have no significant HP gains anyways so why bother buying bolt ons. Boost or Swap is the best way to go either way it's a sure winner..

if i was only more knowledgable when i first started into this scene. i probably would of had a swap ages ago.

You joined HT 2 weeks ago.

Regardless, for beginners getting into modifications its natural to go for the bolt ons regardless of minimal HP gains. How can someone justify dropping thousands of dollars into a hobby they are just getting into? You start with the basics and work your way up.

The Adjustable Cam Gear is only useful if you have added other performance mods to your engine including a tunable ecu (ie. Hondata KPRO) and you are going to dyno tune the car for maximum HP.
