Default DOWNGRADING...

Hey guys what's up, anyways i'm getting rid of my 2005 RSX Type S and i'm thinkin of getting a 98'-01 Integra Ls or Gsr, prefeably a red one, reason being is because i have too many bills at this time and simply cannot afford it while trying to make it faster, in other words making paymnts, soupin it up and and expletiveing it up is way too expensive...haha, just wanted to hear some thoughts on my situation....

I'd go GSR cuz i understand your situation. I was about to do the same thing because insurance and car payment was killing me but now i got a better paying job and insurance went drasticaly down and car payment so i can afford it now. In your situation, if you just can't afford it, then right now is not the time to have the car (or it wasn't meant for you to have the rsx-s right now). You can always get it again when you catch up on bills and can afford the typeS. If financially you can't do it then by all means don't hurt yourself to have a "cool" or nice car. That's my thoughts.

Much appreciated dude...Thanx...
I can afford it but i cant put that much money into it to make it fast, i mean its just parts are pretty expensive for it, dont get me wrong its already pretty fast but parts for b series are way cheaperbut then again you cant go wrong with a "K", anyways i kind of want to go with an ls and boost it just to see how it is but i am an all motor type of guy sooooo...idk

Yeah it's going to be kinda expensive for K series parts since these motors are kind of new still. It took the B series a loooong time till parts became cheap. B series are cheap because there is an abundance of parts out there and a lot of companies have figured out B series. Give it time with the K series. If you can afford the car then keep it and slowly build on it. I know it sucks not being fast right away but it takes time. In the long run once you are finished, i guarantee you'll be satisfied since these motors love to be modded and you wont be kickin yourself in the *** later for selling the typeS. Just slowly build on it or focus on paying bills and not mod it for now untill you catch up to bills. That's what i'm doing.

dont mod it and pay your bills. keep your car and after you finish off then start modding it.

True dude...i mean i only owe about $7000 for an 05' Type s and besides if i do keep it i can gradually get parts for it or i can pay it off and transfer everything over to a dc2, but then again that would be dumb because it would be like i bought a K SWAP for about $22000...LOL...HAHA

LOL yeah that would be quite an expensive swap. If you have only 7g's then keep it man don't get rid of it. Just pay on it. That's like working a job for 16 yrs and having 4 years left till you can retire but instead you quit at 16 when you should of went ahead and finished the 4 years.

just keep your dc5s, just to clarify things if you do in fact downgrade, please dont get an integra GSR because it is the one of the highest stolen car rate so just a fact to help you decide which car to downgrade upon or you could just get an 03-04 rsx-s, they're sellin' like hotcakes now.

Any car can be stolen.. just take the precautions to making it not stealable. ex.. lojack, car alarm, kill switch etc...

yeah and remember, the mods aren't any good if the car gets repo'ed or stolen. Pay it off, and keep good insurance... then SECURE it, then mod it... the insure both.

1. Get an Milano Red.

2. Do what you have to do. If you have to downgrade then downgrade. You'll probably not be as happy and satisfied with the Integra, but hey in the end, you're saving a lot of money. Cars shouldn't be number one in anyone's priority list.

Hey man I was just in a very similar situation. I had the car payed off and loved it but could never afford any of the mods and I also was scared to mod it after I had put so much money into purchaseing it. i ended getting mine sold and I now own 1998 Civic EX. I am not dissatisfied becasue like these guys said it is just not meant for me to have this car right now.

And you want to hear something ironic ? I sold the car to a guy I work with so I have to look at y baby everyday I go to work and watch him beat the ever living **** out of my car. That is the only bad part though.

Get an Integra LS (98-01) and boost it,

Trust me its not a downgrade, Rsx is a nice car but its not like all the pre 01 sports cars honda has made. It dosent give you the same feel. I'm not sure how to explain it, but people who have owned any 88-01 hatches or integras might know what I mean.

A 98-01 integra is just as nice, and it will be easier to modify because you dont have to spend 1k on K-pro, you can get a chipped ecu for like $150.

But hey, one would have to to do a lot more to obtain 200 hp if they're going N/A. With the RSX Type-S, one wouldn't have to spend twice as much money they would for that setup with an Integra.

Your right Rsx engine is better for NA, but its still really expensive to get 240+whp NA with an RSX motor because all the parts are so expensive

for about 1500-2000 dollars you can have an RSX with about 215-220 whp NA, but for the same money, you can have an Integra LS or Gsr boosted with 250-300whp.

The price you say is somewhere along those lines when shopping around.

I agree, but my point is that one can't even reach close to 200 hp with an Integra for the same money. That's if they're going towards the N/A route, not turbo.

The person you were to trade with would have gotten one heck of a deal.

I suggest you trade in your RSX, plus cash.

X2. Why trade it in for a lower end vehicle. Especially since it is almost paid off, just finish the payments. Once it is paid off, you will now be able to spend that little extra money on car parts or other bills.
