Default Fuel press. reg. through purge valve. Cause leaning???

I thought that the fuel pressure regulator's vacuum source was suppose to be direct. Mine goes through a purge valve, before going into the IM. I was having problems leaning out about 6k on the dyno, and was told this was my stock fuel pump. Could this have been the problem?? Thanks

why not get an aftermarket fuel pump? 90 dollars and you find out if its leaing out because of the pump, sounds good to me. what FPR are you using?
