I feel sick.....
short back ground story:
Wife calls me at work and tells me the car is acting funny... I'm saying to myself... "oh no, please not again..... "
She thinks the little temp gauge thingy is broken, because it's all way to the right. Past the BIG red H thingy.
Well I tell her to pull over and wait for me to go and check it out. (i"m almost out of work)
She tells me that she can make it, because she's almost home anyway. She gets it home and I'm on the way home myself to check it out......
Well I'm about a mile and half to my house and this pickup truck in front of me kicks up the leavings of an eighteen wheeler blow out. I can't dodge it, because right at that moment I'm going over a bridge (no were to go!!). I'm in heavy traffic, so I try to move as much as I dare... BAM I get nailed...

up the front and over the side...
And then, I'm so pissed.. this guy steps out in front of my and bam...
Sorry... just joking.. friend trying to cheer me up... (didn't work....)
Nice little crunch.....
I'm going to take a picture of the windshield stamp... can anyone compare it to a GSR or regular LS, RS windshield to see if it's the same...
I'm still firm in the belief that the Type R windsheild is thinner that the regular Integra line up.. I don't want the repair shop to slap on a regular windshield because their to lazy to check.
Thanks for any help guys....

wow...glad you're okay
i've heard about the thinner glass theory but i'm not sure which glass panel is the lighterone...makes sense that the rear hatch would be lighter...for incidents just like the one you just had...

SuX, looks like you got a double "whammy".
Sorry but I've had my windshield replaced a while back and everyone told me the 'teg ones were all the same. Sort of makes sense with the DOT certification and all.
Hope the motor's all right , too (in your wife's car).
The generic windshield (installed) was less than my $250 deductable, but I hear the OEM Honda one is upwards of $500 for just the piece. Ed

The del sol is OK... thanks... Somethings not right.. but it still runs strong and once I took the radiator to get repaired and reintalled everything.. The car runs cold again and no smoke what so ever out the tail pipe. Thank God. That's one less thing to worry about...... I'm trying to get a good pic of the windshield stamp... I'll post it soonest..

Sorry to hear about your misfortune.
At least be thankful the tread hit the right side of your car instead of squarely in the middle of the windshield where you could have been potentially injured.
Glad to hear you're doing fine.

Did anyone else know that AP Tech is a joint venture glass company in the ststae between japanese company "Asahi" and another america company that escpase me?
Also that pick won't tell you anything that is a standard windshield stamp for AP Tech Windshields. The dots under it are a way they can tell you when the glass was actually manufactured at the plant.

THe Circle with the letter in it are Japanese DOT (Not sure what the call it) marks. AS1 denotes it as non-tempered glass i.e. a windshield. The M number is a DOT code. ALl of the info here is required by Japan or the US to be street legal glass.
Hope this helps

Sucks man... hope you got the plate of the vehicle that threw up the peices... make their insurance pay for it all... at least in Texas...
Man oh Man. Sorry to hear about your tire vs pilar / windsheild. Glad that you are in one piece rather than wearing the tire. That's a headache that you'd never get over...
Whatever you do, do NOT wash off / buff out the tire marks on the pilar. The insure company will want to see it. It will support your claim just in case they try to blame it on something else.
Regards and again, sorry to hear it.
