Mini Me???
a mini me is when a stock 16v SOHC 1.5 L or 1.6L engine block is mated with a d16z6 or d16y8 head. Both heads are a SOHC VTEC HEAD.
So in essance you get a SOHC VTEC with 1.5L of diplacment or 1.6L depending on the block used. This also produces more tourque then a regular SOHC VTEC becuase of higher compression ratio.....
Hope that helps

Mini me's are also refered as a SOHC VTEC engine...
since the B series are DOHC and have vtec .. the SOHC are like the little brother.... its refered as a mini engine... derivered from the austin powers movie. mini me referes as a small VTEC engine... its simple... also refers as mating the VTEC head into a D series block.... but both are "Mini me"
peace

for a mini me
u can either swap a whole SOHC VTEC engine
or just the head....
some people claim that a hybrid produces more power... but IMO the longblock its better
and like CRX said u gotta swap the intake manifold from DPFI to MPFI if it hasnt been done.... not a big deal....

i thot there was more to it than just swapping heads. like vtec controller and rewiring stuff. correct me if im wrong.... BTW whats the best computer to use with a mini me? and which would u guys suggest... 92-95 head or the 96?
The best ecu to use on a mini-me would be an OBDI P28 with OBDI to OBD0 jumper harness and OBDI engine electrical components (distributor + injectors). You can go the "cheap" route and keep the stock Si ecu and use a Field's or Apex-i VTEC + Fuel controller. Or you could go the "ultra cheap" route and keep the stock Si ecu and use a cheap RPM switch to activate the VTEC.
I know it may be wishful thinking but I think I may have this done to my car or my engine is really starting to go down hill. I just got this car like 3 weeks ago, so what's been done to it isn't my doing. When I was going through the car at a friend of mines dealership,I ran across the ad the person must of had on the car, there were a few things on there CAI, Cat back, and one was a head. I can't tell you which head cause i gave the ad to guy at the shop to dispose of.
I know it's got the DPFI, but when the car is cold I don't have this rattle (which could be pinging) but when it's warm she'll rattle under load. Right now I run 87 octane, i'm gonna step up to 93 and run a octane boost to see if the rattle goes away.
I guess the question in this is, is there any way to identify the head? Where should I look for a stamping of the code?
thanks in advance

also if u look near the side of the head, where the headers are u should see a little circle with 2 letters and a number on it... liike PM6, PM9, PG7, P28 and **** like that.... thats the ECU code from it was originally from.... look at that , post it and we can tell u what car it was from....
Ok, I found some codes. On the head I found PM3-12 and on the header I found AG-SI or could be a 1 after the S and there was also 8T 18 on the header. I hope this helps figure out what I got.
