Degree Spes for M22X BVTEC Camshafts
TRADITIONAL METHOD
1. Lock VTEC
2. Adjust valve-lash to zero (measure between valvetip and tappet screw).
3. Find approximate TDC (using indicator or visually) and set degree wheel.
4. Find exact TDC by using a piston stop. TDC will be the exact middle of the where the piston stops at BTDC and ATDC. Then adjust wheel pointer
accordingly.
VALVE EVENTS AT 0.050":
VTEC INTAKE
101 LC
OPEN 29 BTDC; CLOSE 51 ABDC
VTEC EXHAUST
109 LC
OPEN 59 BBDC; CLOSE 21 ATDC
LIFT AT TDC METHOD
1. With Zero Lash and at TDC and VTEC NOT locked
Valves should be off the seat
1.5mm for Intake
1.1mm for Ehxaust
For VTEC lobe centers to be approximately at 101 Intake and 109 Exhaust.
