Well I have a chance to get a D16A6 that has been rebuilt with the following:
Vitara Pistons
Eagle Rods /w notched block
ARP head studs
Cometic head gasket
freshly honed
all bearings replaced
balanced crankshaft
And apparently after 5k miles this was done:
timing belt
water pump
thermostat
spark plugs & wires
valve cover gasket
engine coolant temp sensor
Plus it comes with a D16z6 head and a CX tranny.
Plus the ECU and axels. But the Vtex hasn't been wired yet.
Would this be a direct swap into my ED6?
Cause I have the motor on it pulled right now. I just bought it and came with the D15B.. So it wouldn't be a hassle to do this while its out.
Just want to know if this is worth it.
Oh the swap is 900 bucks.

You cannot use the CX transmission with stock mounts. Hasport sells a kit to use hydro transmissions. Mechanically it will bolt up, but the wiring is another thing.
I am not sure if the ed9 is dpfi, if it is, you have to do a MPFI wiring (ECU, dist. injectors, etc). Also you might want to convert to OBD1, but that is something you do AFTER you have MPFI.

if you are not planning to run a turbo, it wouldn't have a lot of power since the Vitara pistons will drop the compression ratio down to about 8:1

Good start for a cheap turbo setup though.

If your not planning on going turbo I would say your better off using a stock a6 and convert the wiring......if you do plan on going turbo you can buy the motor tell him to keep the tranny and use your dx tranny.....unless you planned on converting to hydro
