Searched already so no luck there.
I've noticed that once I've cleared 5k-5.5k RPM in any gear at full throttle, my car doesn't want to accelerate any more. It doesn't happen all the time, and not in every gear. I notice it most at WOT in 3rd, once it hits about 5.5k RPM it refuses to accelerate and sounds like it's backfiring. Again, it has happened in first, second and third gear but it doesn't do it all of the time, and there doesn't seem to be a pattern as to when it happens (i.e. randomly).
I'm guessing it's a timing issue, but out of all the EF's I've owned this is the first time I've ever had it happen.
VITALS:
-stock D15B2 engine and tranny, SRI and genericanister exhaust
-just passed smog with flying colors
-seems to be getting worse...

If that's the case (or any other dizzy related issues) I'll con, er, convince my wife it's time for the MPFI swap.

didn't you say it's a d15b7?!?!? the b7 IS MPFI unless you're talking about a d15b2.
The B2 has some nasty injection problems, but they're not like you describe it.
a misaligned cam-belt would be the the best bet, but also kep in mind that it can also be the spark plug wires ot the dizzy cap. Those two problems are easily diagnose with a water spray in the dark
Good Luck
