Default h22 engine build

ok here's my problem... I wanna stroke my 99 h22 but at the same time I've heard that by moddin the internals I could get more... so if I was to use a H23 crank with aftermarket rods and pistons, with a .10" bore... how would it run pushin around 12 lbs boost??

after having the motor sleeved to run aftermarket pistons, it would run like an h22 which is boosted at 12psi.

do you have any real questions?

read what you posted again and tell me how the "stroker" (dont know what that is) vs an h23 crank (which increases stroke) will differ.

i think it's the crower it turns it to a 2.49L instead of the 2.2L... 102mm stroke w/90mm bore = 2.5L<-- off the website

to get that bore you have to sleeve the motor. the factory frm sleeves are not designed for forged internals or for boring. so if you want to increase the bore of the cylinder you will have to sleeve the motor. you can get 2.3 with the f23/h23 crank.

Just curious, but why do you want to stroke the motor if you're running FI?

to the OP, you might want to do more research before you jump into this.. the build I think you're proposing costs more than you'd imagine.. the 2.5L "stroker" kit is already like 2k right? factor in the money you need for the assembly, tuning, parts, and everything in between..

and 98vtec is right when he said

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by 98vtec &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">after having the motor sleeved to run aftermarket pistons, it would run like an h22 which is boosted at 12psi.

do you have any real questions?</TD></TR></TABLE>

because you (OP) didn't specify what your build was.. u kinda just threw parts together in a sentence without any constructedness...

what motor are u using
whats the bore/sleeve setup
whats the piston/rod combo
whats the compression on the pistons
what turbo setup (skip this if you dont understand turbos)
what are the goals you are reaching
will reliability be an issue, if so.. how long are u trying to have it last? (to everyone else, Yes I'm aware of the saying "its all in the tune" but less pressure is less stress)
and lastly.. how deep are your pockets?

^-- those are just SOME of the questions you need to answer.. im sure I left a lot out..

The H23 and F22 cranks are both a 95mm stroke, but thy're both different.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the H23 crank is lighter or less balanced than the F22 crank, therefore why they tend to spin more bearings, making the F22 crank the better choice.
