To make the story short, machine shop found that the journal for cylinder
four is egg shaped and my options are either let them grind it to reshape
it or get myself new crankshaft. I'm doing a budget build so can i just let them
reshape the journal and no worries or is this just a big gamble
I'm taking?

sounds bad if you can find a cheap ls crank or something your better off. Even if your not spending alot of money on the build im sure you still want it to run smooth.

PM me, I have a spare gsr crank off my 97 gsr, only 67k miles on it. Perfect condition, only reason Im not using it is cause I swapped it out for an LS crank and rods.

How much are they planning to take off? If it's really minor and you can still use normal bearings, then that might be cheaper than a new crank and considering that you said it's a budget build...
