ecu problem

Default ecu problem

so there was something worng with my car.. and my friend says i have to reset my ecu because when i replaced his ecu with mine everything was good. But when i put my ecu in it started fine but when i turn it off it starts acting werid. So if i do reset my ecu will i have to retune my car??? And if so can anyone think of any places that are good in the northwest. (seattle)

No, if you reset the ECU, you don't need a retune.

Remove the negative battery terminal.

i did that and the check engine light is still on. And my ecu is chipped. So myfriend is planning on just get another whole ecu and put it in my car. i know this might sound dumb but since he is putting a new ecu i don't have to retune it do i?

why don't you find out what the cel is for?
