Default 99 DX B16A or B18B swap?!

Hey,

I know that you guys are probably sick of these questions but i've looked all over the forum & can't really find my answer. So here it is: I need to decide whether to swap in a B18B or a B16A into my 99 Civic. I am on a budget, so which one do you guys think would be cheaper after every things been said & done. Like including the motor, tranny, axles, half shaft, intermediate shaft, motor mounts, ECU, etc. etc., & even shipping

Also, I'm confused on how either those swap would work in my 99 DX. With the B16A, which generation would I use? OBDI right? but my cars OBDII???? So how does that work? How about motor mounts, does anyone make them for an EK, cause when I go online these sites only have them for 88-91 or 92-95 Civics. I'm so confused. Then there's the B18B. I don't even know where to start. Any help I would really be nice!

For the B16 you want to look for the B16a2 out of a 99-00 SI (EM1, OBD2). And the same goes for the B18b1 or the B18b. Make sure they are OBD2.

For mounts etc I am pretty sure you will use all the mounts from the EM1 also along with the shift linkage.

Ok, but where can I find a B16A2? I've searched these import sites and they don't say much about swaps for 96-00's. Like Hmotorsonline doesn't even say anything about swaps like that. And for the acura your saying I would have to find an 99 Integra motor then?

Where are you from? You can always check the Marketplace for your respective region and post a WTB thread.

You can always call Hmotors and ask them if they have a 99 B18b or b1 or a B16a2. If they don't have one they can always help point you in the right direction.

PWJDM has B16As, bu theyre OBD1.

You'd look at $3500 for the entire swap with everything you would need, then 400-900 for the swap if you pay someone to do it.

To go from OBD2 to 1 you just need a conversion harness from boomslang fabrication, it isn't hard.

So basically if i convert my car from OBDII to OBDI then i can swap in a 2nd gen B16A? thats makes sense now. you said 3500 for it all? on that link its 2500 for the complete swap isnt it? hmotorsonline has the complete swap with everything for 2300 plus shipping which i have already figured out to be around 300-400 to my area. and skunk2 sells obd conversions for 200 bucks. thats 2800 for everything. i would do the swap myself since im apprenticing for a mechanic for my city, so i know a little about cars. but as far as electronics go, everything would kind of be a plug in play for the harness for the b16 and the obd conversion correct?
