Default Del Sol seats in an EK: How low is it?

I'm thinking about swapping my factory EK seats on my 2k HX for the del sol ones.

I read that it sits lower on the del sol seats . Does anyone have a picture of how the height is before and after the del sol seats or any pictures of the seats in an EK?

I got a friend who would sell them for $180, grey stripped 94s.

Thanks
WIlson

They do make you sit very low on the ground, but are very comfortable. If you go to the A/C forums and click on the del sol thread. They just posted pictures of del sol seats!

I have the gray stripped del sol seats in mine. They are very comfortable and also hold you in really well. They do sit very low though.

ive got a pair or grey stipers in my ek hatch, give me like 5 min and ill go out side and snap a couple pics, they make you sit at least 2" lower i think, but they are defiantly well worth it, they feel so much more comfortable, i paid $110 for mine from a pick and pull junk yard with a riped driver seat, so i wouldn't pay more than $150 in good condition, ive seen them for $200 shipped in ok condition, just keep that in mind i guess

I SEE DRUGS IN YOUR FIRST PIC!!! haha

I've sat in JDM_EK_wanabe's car with those seats. It's a LOT lower, and on a lowered car it almost feels like you're steping up onto the ground to get out, but it's sweet. Comfy seats as well.

i say do it.

180 bucks seems kinda steep, but it all depends on how much the market is for something wherever you are located. or maybe the seats are in mint condition.

(I'd pay 180 if they were in immaculate shape..)

5'5" ehh, yeah, that is kinda iffy then, i had to lower my steering wheel some, and now i cant really see most of my hood, but i could before, and im 5'11", its a big difference at first but you get used to it, maybe since its your friend that has the seats, ask him if you can try them out for a day, just the driver, takes like 30min-1hr max to swap the rails and whatnot

uh huh... haha.

I think the seats look great, but visibility would be a big problem.... It's tough. I agree with Pfaff, tho. See if he'll let you borrow a seat for a day or 2 so you can get a feel for it.

Actually got my friend to sell t hem for $80! nice!

Anyways, they came out really good, but I had to rush to install them since the sun was setting and I had no garage. Thanks to my fiance for holding up the flashlight and helping me hold the chair as I was taking the bolts off.. Super

All in all took me 2 hours to do the first chair (since i had no idea what I was doing) and then another hour for the second one ... 3 hours such.

It's not super duper low as I thought it would be but i feel even at five five, it's not too bad.. The seat is super duper comfortable and it's well worth the weight... anyone want to buy ek seats? hehe

Pictures tomorrow, it was too damn dark!

nope, you have to swap them over to the del sol, seats, look for the FAQ there is a link in there on how to do it, read that like 2 times and it should only take you like an hour at most for each

its a dual bend SS i got from eBay about a year ago, so i dont know what the seller name is, i almost wish it was actually a little shorter now since my seats are like 2-3" lower, i think it actually is about the same hight as the stock one when i took it out and com paired both of them, or at least from the ball pivot to the top, i think the **** kinda makes it a little bit lower, i have it screwed all the way down as far as it would go then put some locktite on it so it wouldnt move

I'm not a huge fan. I used to have them in my 93 hatchbox. When I got my 99, I really didn't want them in there. I just gave them to my taller friend who liked to sit low (he had a 97 hatch). They sat way too low for me. I'm 5'11, but I like seeing my hood. Iduno...I usually sit pretty high up.

Depends on if you like driving low. I hate it.

I'm 5'4" and can barely see over the steering wheel in my del sol and hate it

I'd maybe think about something else that can support you as good but can sit up higher
