The Honda dealership in Beaufort SC has a new Mugen Si in stock and advertise it for $350 a month. I figured I would post it incase anyone is still looking for one.

i bought my si from that dealership (STOKES HONDA) and i pay 460 for mines and it was 21,990. 700 fico score. 2500 down.
my point: what they "advertise", aint gonna be what you pay for it.
it all depends how bad you want one.

EXACTLY the same. And so are the brakes.

The Mugen Si has an identical powertrain, and the ecu hasn't changed either. It includes a Mugen cat-back exhaust, but it adds no power. The Mugen has the Motegi track-tuned suspension, but has no brake upgrades. It has the 18" wheels and rubber, and then all of the cosmetic stuff (front lip, rear diffuser, side skirts, grille, adjustable wing, Mugen bagdes, Mugen shift ****, etc).

Even the mugen fan boi traded his Mugen in for a new S2k, at the OCHO.
The mugens are just over priced honda's with a bunch of taped on mugen comsmetics. Same engine as the SI but im sure you all already know this.

I'm in the Philly/Wilmington DE area and two dealerships within 15 miles of eachother have them and couldn't give them away. They have about an inch of dust on them. Same with the S2K C/R.
Yeah its rare, but so are DeLorean's....look how good they did.

This is why they will probably never bring the honda civic type R over..nobody buys there high performance cars that sell above the standard cars.and you guys dont help either by saying "to much money" stop complaining

The Mugen Si isn't a performance car, the CTR is.

A 30K JDM Civic Type R that is more powerful, better handling, and pretty much better in EVERY way than the Mugen is alot more justified than spending 30K on a Mugen.
That is of course if the JDM Type R ever made it to the U.S. with its current setup.

Which it won't
Personally, I like the looks of the USDM Si a lot more. If Honda could mix our USDM FG2 with the drivetrain/suspension of the JDM CTR, I'd pay 25k. I still don't know about 30k.

Oh yea, I remember back in the 60's when I could fill up the entire tank on '55 Chevy ($2k brandy new) for $2 and a corn cob.
Times have been changing for a long time pal. Gas prices and car prices, didn't just start being outrageous.
For the performance a JDM Type-R has, I really could not justify paying over 25k.

I think a Mugen SI could be had for 25-26k. Dealership near me has one that they got right from the beginning. I doubt there has been any interest in it what-so-ever because they will pursue you to hell if you make an offer on anything.
i tried around my northshore area and they aren't going down yet. they said the lowest will be 30000. so if anyone knows a dealership that will sell for 25 around the northshore new enland area let me know.

I have a 2006 X runner and as much I like my truck I miss me some MUGEN
