Which intake manifold fits?
Good morning,
I believe that the intake manifold from the ZC engine would fit a d15 engine-- and it would 'open it up.' However i don't believe that a used zc engine would be all that easy to find. I don't believe the local junkyard would have one.
I want to put a SRI or CAI on a d15. Can anyone tell me which intake manifold i would best use? Is there one that will open up my d15 and will be easy to find?
I know i could find the intake manifold from a used d16A6 but i don't know if that would open it up as much as one from a ZC.
And yes i did search a little, however I didn't find any posts that addressed my question directly. Most people are wanting an intake manifold for a ZC or better.
thanks for reading
Okay, I have to admit that B-series is really my thing rather than D-series. But as far as I know, a D16A6 manifold works just fine on a D15. I'm not sure you would even do better with a ZC manifold. By the way, a D16A1 (1986-1989 Integra) manifold is probably the same thing as a ZC manifold. So you could try to use this manifold. After all, 1986-1989 Integras are quite common at the junkyards.
The d16a1 engines are really quite different to the ZC/d16a8.
For ZC information try http://www.thezcr.com i think it is.

a DOHC ZC intake manifold won't fit any other D-series, except the D16A1 - different bolt hole locations - here is SOHC D-series intake gasket on a DOHC ZC intake manifold
plus you're going to need more then just a manifold if you're going to do this swap. you are running a dpfi, right? if you are, you're going to need to change a lot more things then just the manifold.
