Autozone spring compressors
Ive used the autozone springs compressor and it worked fine for me. It worked great on removing the springs, but when i used it to install my H&R springs, they just woudnt fit correctly. What i ended up doing was bolting the end of the shock to the control arm and using a jackstand under the hub assembly, i lowered the car slowly and guided the shock tower into the top-hat and screwed the bolt at the top down securely. Probably not the best way to do it, but it works great. I just gave up on renting the spring compressors, to remove my springs now, i get two of my tires and put the springs/shock assembly between the two tires and losen the tophat bolt until they come apart, but since the two tires are wedged against the shock and spring, nothing comes flying out at you or anything. It just pops off, no harm done.
yup some bolts are just stubborn and require a 10lb hammer (exaggerating for effect) impact to undo them little by little which can be a P.I.T.A!.. well it was for me.
i need an air compressor.

Just blast the nut on top with a air gun it only pops up about 2 inches, you are not going to die from this. when it goes back on just have a friend push the spring/tophat down to get the nut started then blast it back on with the gun
if youre ballsy you can just loosten the nut and launch it accross the room at something hard if you think you can find it and when you put it back on push down real hard, its not as hard or dumb as it seems when youre lazy
should pop right in with a little muscle. if not, try feeding it though the top(which should be the biggest opening) of the springs and feed it to the bottom. hopefully this works.
