You can either take it to a shop go the rebuild route or get in the classifieds and look for another tranny..

What car and model is this for?

A new or newly rebuilt transmission is going to be expensive.

Yup
I paid $800 to have mines rebuilt and it still did not fix my problem,I ended up buying a used one for $450.A new one from the dealer is about $2600 I believe.

Keep an eye on the classified, you may be able to get a good deal on a ITR tranny which will be an upgrade for you and would not cost much more then having a transmision rebuilt.

I recently went through a similar situation: Wanted to go LSD. Rather than add a Quaife to my GSR tranny, I ended up buying a new ITR tranny. Enter ITR or GSR tranny part numbers at the usual online Acura dealer websites to get a feel for pricing.

(Let me know if you're interested in a local, no-grind, maintained, 108k GSR tranny, for a lower price than labjunkies.... which does look like a cool site.)
