Default D17A7 Civic GX Natural Gas enigne switched to petrol

Ok ive been looking to do a high compression single slam and ive been told that right out of the box the gx motor is 12.2 or 12.5:1 compression but it runs on natural gas. So then someone else had informed me that if i slap on a newer d17 model intake manifold that it would run on gas no problem. So my question basically is. Has anyone had any experience with this motor or has done the swap before to put some input in on it.
