I thought that the 94-95 cars only had one O2 sensor, on the exhaust manifold. Yesterday, I saw it had another O2-sensor-looking thing right before the cat. It was on a small section of exhaust tubing, in between the header downpipe and the cat... can it be removed?

Thinking of doing a header install.

 

just leave the one on that small piece of tubing and plug the other...u only need one i bought header set with downpipe and had 2 O2 sensor holes i had to plud.....just use some old 02 sensors and weld them up good or use jb weld

 

there should not be anything in the piece, if i remember correctly, its just a piece of flex piping. have you actually gone under the car and visually inspected what you were looking at.

 

I was installing a test pipe (shhhhh!) when I noticed the section of tubing with a wire'd o2 sensor looking object sticking out of it... It looks like second o2 sensor to me.

BTW, the exhaust seems to really neck down right before the cat. I wonder if a header replaces this piece also, or do I have to keep it so the header down-pipe can reach the cat/rest of the exhaust system.
