Default Catalytic Heatshield - Need to thighten.

How do I access it? It is rattling like crazy and probably just needs to be thightened. I'm a car noob tough and don't know where it is/how to access it best. Any suggestions?

Just cut it off, they aren't needed. I've cut 2 or 3 of them off with no adverse affects.

You'll find it on the exhaust, after the exhaust manifold. Most likely under you car about halfway back. If also might be attached to the manifold.

...floor jack? How different is that from a regular "change-your-tire-jack?"

if you dont have a floor jack then the tire jack will work but but they are just a pain in the ***. you will also definately want a jack stand (as you would when ever your under a car) so that you are protected against the car potentially falling on you. A floor jack is just alot easier to jack the car up with. You may want to invest in getting a floor jack kit that comes with jack stands from walmart for like 50 bucks. That way you can start saving yourself some money and doing oil changes your self!

if you take it off, you may experience some heat in the cabin from the exhaust. heck, i've taken all of mine off when they've rusted through/off

Yeah, I was thinking about the car just falling on top of me, that would not be cool

Actually, I did a quick little search and I think what I already have is a floor jack. My jack is one of these: http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-HUSKY-...wItem
This would work wouldn't it? I don't; have anything besides the jack itself for the car to rest on once it is up there though.

(I'm gonna feel really dumb if this is a regular jack)

ya a floor jack is the same as a regular jack lol. no worries!! what you could do is if you dont have a jack stand just use the tire jack as a jacks stand for now. Although i would still recommend getting a pair of true jack stands.

when you said regualr change your tire jack, i was thinking you meant the stock honda jack that comes with the car that you use when you get a flat. lol wooops. The jack you have is a regular floor jack. its alot better than the honda jack those are a pain in the ***!! lol

Is the rattle only at certain RPMs??? I get this rattling noise at about 3200 rpm EVERYTIME but only at that certain RPM. Would be sweet if this was the cure to my problem!
