Default Axle too short?

When I bought my car, 1994 Integra LS, there was a clicking noise when I turned left, when I jacked up the car, I noticed the boot on the passenger side axle was torn. I went to Autozone and bought a new CV Halfshaft, part number 8006, which claims its for an Integra rightside with ABS. I finally got around to putting it in yesterday and it seems to short. When I line it up and put the axle nut on, it pulls the axle out of the transmission. Theres only about 1.5-2cm of play, but its more than enough to pull the axle out and let the spindle spin freely while its in gear.

What should I do? Go return the axle and get a different model number?

I had the same problem .I got three different ones from Advance autoparts and they were all to short.Their computer says it is the right one,but from what I hear is when they remanufacture them they mix the parts up .I don't know how true but that's the info I came up with when I researched it.

well i don't know how u people are putting the drivers side axle on the passenger side because that's ridiculous. there not even the same hook up. the drivers side slips into the transmission and the passenger side slips over the shaft to hook up. so it's impossible to hook them up backwards, i'm gonna say that u got the wrong axle period.
