Default ACT clutch problem

This is my second ACT clutch and both have done the same thing.... The pedal will different engaugement point, along with a squealing noise coming from the clutch... I took it to another shop today in the Tampa area..... LHT, dont know if you have ever heard of them, but they have a yellow type r in turbo mag.... So after driving my car he told me it was the splines on the pressure plate. After finding out I had an ACT he told me they buy used clutches and and swap out the springs..... IDK if you have ever noticed, but every ACT clutch has a ring around the splines... Cause they are used... Anyone else have a problem with ACT?

I have an ACT on my 91 Civic. Bought it new and had it installed along with an extreme pressure plate back in probably 2002. What you've described sounds like what is happening to mine now, but mine is 6 years old and has been through a whole bunch of abuse. I wish I could've inspected mine when I first got but I didn't really know much about it at the time. I'm probably going to replace mine in the near future with the same setup so I'll definitely check it thoroughly prior to install.

I wish I knew how to upload pics on here cause I would show you a brand new act clutch I just bought that has bearing wear.. I've had two clutches from them now installed, and a third I just bought.... I'm returning it for a clutch master...

I have just heard good things about act. It might be possible but it sounds like a stretch.

How do you drive the car is a better question???

Maybe its the shop thats doing the install, I purchased a grip force stage3 with alighten fW. I had to have my trans rebuilt and the shop i chose insited on a new clutch, they told me the car wouldnt move wth the old one, Ive put almost 4000 dd miles on the $hitty streets of dallas. Ive heard lots of good things about ac,t check your tranny fluid and most clutches need to be adjusted after being broke in . Hope you r breAKin your clucthes in!

I have an ACT stage 2 clutch and i have had no problems with it. i run the hell out of my car and the clutch is great. about the remanufacturing of clutches with ACT i have never heard of this. i def think its the way that it is being installed. or u r not giving it enough time to break in. u should ride it easy for the first 500 miles and the entire time or it will break in wrong and wear out.

I broke both of them in right. On top of that I didn't run the car hard for a while... But I was told by a very reliable source that they sell remanufactured clutches... Lht performance

I've ran an ACT HDSS and a ACT XTSS and never had a problem with either..

I have a cheap TCS clutch in my car now.. and upon engaging and disengaging the pressure plate does make noise.. very annoying.. But i just assumed it was because of a cheap product!
