Who has a gutted 88/91 CRX?
Anyone here have a gutted 2nd gen CRX? If so, what did you take out and how much pounds did you lose? And also, what effects did gutting it, (if very extensive), have on vibration noises at high speeds, keeping in heat or cold, etc.
I had my entire CRX gutted. Just two seats, door panels, dash and a steering wheel. Not sure how much weigh it took off. The car would get pretty cold in the winter, in the summer it would get hot because of the exhaust piping and not having the carpet to insulate it. You get a lot of noise from the rear of the car. I put the carpet back in and it's a little better but still noisy.
my 90 si (hatch) is gutted just dash, front seat, and door panels.. the only reason i gutted it was to fit the cage, but the sunroof leaks and kept getting the carpet soaked so i just left it out. as far as weight..... not much at all, if you got a set a sparco n/a sprint you would lose more weight than gutting it, plus you wouldn't have to deal w/ the noise.....
Too loud.
