CRX motor and transmission swap???
I am thinking of doing a motor/transmission swap on a 1990 CRX. It presently has a automatic transmission. When I do the motor swap I would like to put a 5 speed in it . What Honda cars would be a good choice to provide the correct equipment needed to do this swap? I am only wanting a good dependable car not a track car or show car just a depenable set up for my crx.
Thanks
Mark

That depends on the motor. For D-series motors, a 1988-1991 Civic manual transmission is easiest to use. Alternatively, you can use aftermarket mounts in order to adapt a 1992-2000 hydraulic transmission. But these mounts are relatively costly. For B/H/F/K motors, you need to use a transmission for the same series of motor (although H and F motors and transmissions are cross-compatible). As a side note, I should also say that there are adaptor plates for H/F motors so that they can be used with B/D transmissions.
