ITR 5 Lug conversion on an EF???
I'm sure it's been posted before but I can't seem to find anything on this forum, so let's see who's got info of it even bein' possible and if it is...what are the neccesary steps to do this?
Yeah I know...I like my brakes now and they're stock. But I want 5 lug strictly for show. That's my reasoning.
or buy an accord... they do well in shows.. oooh, i know! A celica GT with the action package. that's a good "all show, little go" car.
I didn't ask for your smartass comment...just asked for a simple link my friend, I've seen a post and pics in here not to long ago with it. Thought it'd be somethin' fun to do. I don't have stickers and big *** wings and **** all over my car, I don't do that stupid ****. So back up man.
It can be done the same was it gets done on an eg hatch by gettin the knuckles an suspensions pieces an braking system off an itr.I was considering this but when I put 2 an 2 toghether an 5 lug is wack unless its on an ek hatch since its the only civic to come stock with it in japan,The ctr not base models.Do as you please but personal feelin is its a waste of 1200$ or more that could be spent on some very nice rims that will better offset the car then an extra lug nut.

hey call me crazy, but i would spend the extra cash just to put itr wheels on the rex. i just got a thing for those wheels.
good luck man.
Well I posted it up a couple times alreaddy, but the question pops up again.
Here is what the awnswer is:
Type R 5-lug:
Info: Its really simple. The only thing you need other than what is on the CRX is 94+ integra outer tie rod ends.
The rear trailing arms are the same. Just change the whole trailing arm, it bolts up to all the crx control arms.
For the front just put on the Type R spindles and the 94+ integra outer tie rods. Then just do up the bolts and bleed the brakes.
I used the original crx axles and the spindles were the Type R spindles.

Thanks guys... the car is totally different this year. I sold the kit and bought a JDM front end. I also traded the CW R rims for gunmetal R rims. Its at the body shop right now... I will post some pics when i get it back.

Stock rotor size and stock calipers.
i believe this guy runs hawk HP+...
ITR brakes = waste of money, unless it's for the looks... which i still don't get.
(Disclaimer: I'm a performance nut who doesn't understand the desire to spend a lot of money on things that don't do anything for performance...aka, just for looks)

So stopping faster is a bad thing??

Also considering that the stock setup is more than enough to properly, and effectively, slow a CRX down to a grinding halt with the proper materials.
ITR brakes on a CRX with the ITR rims and tyres will take longer to stop than a CRX with stock Si brakes on some toyo proxies. Only difference is the benefit of better cooling efficiency (hence, less brake fade).
ALSO... trying to source all the parts can be just as expensive as a better brake upgrade (Fastbrakes, etc etc etc)...assuming you upgrade to better tyres as well.
Side note, but related: A couple of guys and myself did some brake testing on a '89 CRX Si. We had the front disc, rear drum setup and found we stopped sooner than the same CRX with disc's all around (something like 130' as opposed to 133', with Front disc, rear drums; all disc... respectively)...why? Well, added weight was the main reason. Of course, after several stops the all disc brakes faded less and stopped sooner.
Conclusion: ITR brakes are overkill and a waste of money. I have the 11" fastbrake kit and I wish i had stuck with the stock setup.

how come the wheel is pushed towards the rear of the fender in that picture? is it because the geometry of the R knuckles is WRONG so it screws up suspensions angle!?
