... best luck with?

what are you goals?... is this mainly a daily driver and some autox... or do you want a daily driver that will be able to compete (which is kind of hard to do).. what classes do you want to run...

go buy an evo. way better all around car that a civic. less prone to theft, more space for bringing friends to the mall/movies, faster (oem b00st ftw) and will kill at the autocross. especially when set up well with a good driver (sorry rodney).
but if your realy bent on it, i'd build an eg. more parts avail. and a little easier to work on.

I've always been partial to the EJ2 chassis, lots of cheap parts and aftermarket for them, a little smoother feel to them driving, honestly. The ED8 or ED9 chassis is lighter, and more expensive aftermaket it seems... Tough choice. Both have incredible track potential.

If you're looking online, or on this site for either, most people mistakingly sell the 92-95 coupe as "EG's" though. JDM fanboys seemed to confuse the internet with that one

Anyways... I like the EJ or EH chassis.

i think the EJ is one of the most attractive cheaper cars ever made, i own both and have always favored the EJ2.

As much as I wanted to say my own. I gotta go with the Evo, for all the reasons already listed above.

if it HAS to be a civic or crx id go with the crx, you've already the sedan and the crx could be more fun than a heavy coupe.. but if it were me, i'd take the money i'd use for the civic and get some nice wheels and tires for autox use only

Daddio's SM Evo that won Nats in 07 is street driven.

I wouldn't daily drive a CRX, in fact I get scared driving mine to and from events.

How much money can you invest in a car? Looking at your choices my guess is less than 4k.

haha when i came into this thread i was not thinking of a evo but now that people say it. that would not be a bad choice.

just maybe get some nice coilovers that u can adjust the dampning so u dont ride around town with them stiff as expletive haha.
