How should i go about removing stain/corrosion on my Equip 03 lips?

First off i have tryed mothers, with the power ball, and it did nothing.
Im looking for a way to lightly refurbish the lips on my works. The wheels have a sort of blue haze on all the lips if you look hard at them. One of them also has what looks to be maybe a hard water stain.
My first guess would be to hit the wheels with a high grit sand paper(2000 grit?) then buff them with more metal polish.
Also, are the lips coated with anything from the factory?
I bought the wheels and they came like this for the most part so i'm not 100% positive on exactly what caused these defects
