Default Want to get back at thieves AFTER they got my car

I've been thinking, and I saw WRX-Killer comment on it in some thread in the past.
I was thinking about one of those GPS trackers that track the spead and location of the car, AFTER THE FACT. The ones that used to see where your kids went, or where your employee was and for how long. The ones where you have to retrieve the unit and then download the information to your computer. If, unfortunately, a thief gets away with my car, I want to have my revenge.

If I can retrieve my car and get that unit back, and have the investigating officer pull the GPS unit from my car, couldn't that be used to locate the perps? Also, wouldn't that be admissable in court, if the officer retrieves the unit from my car, from their impound?

If they tow it, I want to have a chance at getting some revenge. (Legally)

What do the Security Gurus think?

I doubt any tracking information from your GPS would be admissable in court, nor would a car theft end up in a trial... Sure, you could sue the guy/people that stole your car, but you'd end up spending a ****-ton of money on legal fees, and for what? To get a judgment against someone who probably can't pay it anyway and won't give a rats *** that he's got a judgment on his credit report?

i know violence is not the key, but you've got a great idea.

I thought about that many times. With our law system so weak now, i decided to go stealth alarm;(the one that pages), put a bunch of kill switches in, & a shot gun, (make sure they remember their last Honda they stole)

I wouldnt mind all the taxes im paying if our cops worked like the CSI shows.

I do agree, even if you put a judgement on a person who's already broke, what do they care? We can fine the crook all we want, it wont change a thing. Take their license away, it doesnt matter, they'll still drive, and without insurance too! Send them to jail, then our tax dollars are just paying them to live for free.

It gets me worked up to see innocent people suffer and then suffer more when they try to find a resolution. This SUX!!

We need stronger laws/punishments!!

Thieves should get their hands cut off with no future disability/financial support, this way we know who they all are!

with your car all you need to do is add the clifford 210c gps tracking system. I have your car set up and ready to install it. This makes your car 99.9% safe and you will catch anybody that takes your car. i can't say how many times this unit has saved members and customers cars.

With this system you can have the police go get the car as dei works with the police on grabing it right back. Turn around time is less them 20-30 mins because you have the excate location of the car unlike lo-jack. And most time gps won't let it get that far because before a theif can get the car out your drive way or into the car and try to shut it off or onto a tralier. You have allready been notified and can prevent the hole thing. I will say there is a member that did not head my advice and took the law into his own hands when his itr was pushed away when he was not at home. They really pushed the car 10 miles. he went there with out the police and got his car back and hit the dude up side the head with a hammer. Now both of them got cases.
