Default Is this mechanic correct?

Well, I have recently been having problems (See https://honda-tech.com/zerothread/2230207.) After nothing there helped me, I decided i can't play around with it anymore and I took it to a mechanic.

The mechanic said, it could be the timing belt.... Is there anyway possible this could be true? When its cold it's fine, but when it's warmed up at least 50% it goes to ****???.. He says it could be off timing just a little bit, causing it to sputter in the low rpms and have trouble starting...

Hmm...

could i just be lucky and be seeing signs of a bad timing belt before it's too late and completely breaks on me?

any help is appreciated.

How many miles on the car? Is it the original belt? The belt should be replaced every like 90-100k or 7 years or something (read your manual, it could be different for years/engines).

If the belt is old, just replace it regardless. Hopefully it cures your issue. It could also be simple tune up items.

Also, check your IGNITION timing. If the belt stretches or skips, the ignition timing will also be way off. If you have to jack the distributor way to one side or you are unable to square up ignition timing, it's a definate clue that your belt is stretched or skipped.
