go with the blox a or bc3+.

if yoou get the change.. try upping the compression before you stick that head back on the block.. mill it or go for a mugen/spoon HG. every bit of comp. will help your setup

Im running an identical setup...B17 with some PR3 pistons and a P&P head and a 2Layer HG.

I went with some Skunk2 1 cams. Haven't got it tuned yet but im hoping to put down atleast 175whp with an ITR header, Skunk2 IM, 65mm TB and full exhaust.

i got a p30 intake mani with hondata gasket. RC 62mm throttle body. shitty dc sports 4-1 header with a custom 2.5 collector with 2.5" exhaust.

i put out 192 to the crank with this head on a b16 block with itr pistons. with crower stage 1 cams. so im hoping to hit around 170whp with this setup.
im really inspired by Omniman and his builds. so im kinda going for something like that. idk how he is using such low comp. and makes huge power.
what if i went with buddy club spec 4 cams? would that be to big? im not afraid to rev this motor out. as i revved to 9500 with my b16 setup. so i dont have a problem revving to about 9 grand to make power with a bigger cam.

i would honestly opt for the itr's. i beleive you would end up with a better torque range for a daily without sacrificing top end by much. itr's run good rpm wise as is.

dyno prob in another month or so when the weather is warmer.

the block is stock. the head is milled .030. so i figured its about 10:3.1 comp.

hopefully by this time next week ill have something for you guys.

i took it out for a drive the other day to make sure everything was working. everything seems fine. i had to mess with my idle alittle bit. it didnt want to stay running after it warmed up. i had to turn the throttle screw on the tb almost all the way out and tighten the throttle cable some. besides that the motor runs pretty good. i still have the stock p61 ecu. 8200 rev limt. vtec at 5800. which is fine for now.

i also have a small oil leak where the head meets the block above the engine stamp code. ive read its a common prob on bseries vtec motors. i should of put some honda bond on that area before i put it together.

i guess i should up date this thread.

oil leak has been fixed. i replaced the cam seal with a blox seal. and also bought a new vtec soleniod gasket from honda.

i still havent been able to hit the dyno yet. but i bought a chipped p61 ecu. with a basemap chip from phearable.net. it pulls very nice now with this new ecu. i also bought some skunk2 stage 2 tuner series cams. im going to dyno with the itr cams and then with the skunk2 cams. i also just bought and installed a skunk2 pro series intake manifold with hondata gasket. and a 62mm RC throttle body.

so far on the street ive beat a gsr ek coupe. lsvtec integra. and stock 91 ls hatch.

for a tune. im going to Dent Sport Garage. if anyone has heard of them. i plan on doing this soon. its just hard to put up the 500 for a tune at this time. im going to the track this friday to see what it can do before the tune.

change your muffler/get cam gears like you listed/and you can run your skunk2 stage 2's IMO and you will make some nice power.. especially with a good header if you're on the budget like me "hytech copy"

yea thats the plan. i want the hks hi power exhaust. but i heard the piping is kinda small?

cam gears and hytech copy header and a new exhaust setup. imo it should put me close to my goal

*update*

new exhaust setup. and cams installed

i got a deal on a comptech 4-2-1 header for cheap. my dc sports hung to low and was pretty much crushed on the bottom.

rsr exmag exhaust. i dont care if this is holding me back. its staying. sounds awesome.

skunk2 stage 2 cams. just installed tonight. they made a huge difference. its still untunned running on a phearable.net chip. vtec is a 5k and it bogs slightly then pulls hard up to 8500 revlimit. im hoping i can schedule a day for a dyno tune within the next few weeks. does $500 for a dyno tune seem to high to anyone? or is that the going rate?

Typically it's $150 an hour with a/f.

S2S2 are a good cam for your motor, Ex-Mag = The header will be holding you up though, maybe a JG with a 2.5 collector would be a better manifold for you if you're not looking to spend a G. Is your intake arm 3"? If so, get a velocity stack and K&N filter. BP has the stack and filter # on his website, it will make a diff.

yea the intake arm is 3". i plan on getting a v-stack for running at the track. ill look into the k&n filter. as far as the header goes. i may still buy the hytech replica. we had a group buy locally, but that keeps on falling though.
