90 accord issue!!
hi!!who locked my other thread??i try search but no help.my accord is auto.how do i fixed this prob.when i turn iginition key over car won't start in 'park"?i had to switch to neutral to get it to start??and put it back in park.there is no cel light or anything.i'am having another issue weird noise coming from glove compartment, like heater noise or something and leak from the crack valve cover?i need to get it fix asap.thanks
There is a switch in the console that allows the engine to start in park or neutral. Obviously it's gummed up or partially broken.
Heater noise? Maybe the heater fan? Don't know. Can't hear it from here.
Cracked valve cover? Replace it. Leaking valve cover gaske? Replace it too.

i solve the noise by pressing the ventilation ac/heater button at the same time.but when i press it again the noise comes backon?thanks to the otherguy thread"it works!..about the valve cover i'm not sure if its broken becuz yesterday the roads are pretty sluggish with puddles,i might of hit big puddle of water.about the switch in the console?the button should be under the console?where can i get a new switch?
the non start issue may be a main relay. My 92 auto did it too, It only happened when the car had been runniong for a while. The relay heats up and when it is hot it wont prime the fuel pump. Are you having the non start issue when the car is warmed up? If so search the forum for main relay issues. It is about 50 bucks for a new one and installs eaisly.
yeah,i'am gettin power but it will not start in 'PARK".had to shift to reverse to 'N" is ok starts then pop back to park.this happen everytime i shut the car off?you think is the relay?imma have to look into it.
That noise around the heater started in my car this morning! It isn't the fan still there when fan is shut off. The main fuel relay is on the drivers side. I can feel it vibrating the heater box.
Don't bother with the relay. If the no-start condition is definately linked to the shifter position, it's the switch at the end of the shifter inside the console. You can try to clean the contacts inside the switch by soaking it in rubbing alcohol and blowing it dry with compressed air. Might be as simple as that. For a replacement switch, on line OEM parts places should have them. Make sure something else isn't just broken or out of place or alignment first before buying the wrong thing.
