I understand it is supposed to help with equalizing the cylinder filling and help create power due to that. I know of a fabricated IM that employs this (built in) and I know the Edelbrock Performer Victor-X has this wedge built into the TB flange as well. </TD></TR></TABLE>

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by BlueVtec18 &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">I think it will help to aid in a more even cylinder filling and create more power. See, if the air enters the plenum straight in as normal, the #4 cylinder will try to "take" more air since it is the first to see the incoming charge. By the same nature 3 and 2 will accept a lesser amount of the charge and #1 usually gets the "starvation effect". In a band-aid attempt to fix this uneven-ness, some aftermarket IM's extend the plenum at the #1 runner.

If you look at the Edelbrock Performer Victor X IM for the GSR and the fabricated IM's from Endyn, they both have a canted TB mounting flange. This surely isn't by accident. By canting the TB about 10-11 degrees, it will aim the incoming charge towards the back wall of the IM. This will allow it to then travel further down the IM before it starts being divided to the 4 cylinders. This is supposed to enhance and even out cylinder filling a fair amount and help to allow all 4 cylinders to make more even power which will in turn balance out the power production and create more power as a by-product.

Take a squirt gun and aim it perpendicular to a big fan. The fan will blow the water away from it immediately and if the fan is strong enough, no water will get past the fan. If you now aim the same water stream towards the fan a little bit, the water will travel further before the fan can blow it all out of the way. You will see the water stream "bend" and travel further.

The incoming air charge in the IM should act in a very similar way.</TD></TR></TABLE>

I believe he only made one for himself. To bad their aren't any dyno comparisons.
