SOHC to B18C (TypeR) Motor swap.....Difficulty levle?
Hi guys,
I just sold my 95 civic and bought a 96 civic coupe with a SOHC (Vtec-E) in it from a guy who was in a car club so the exterior in really nice with all the little extras already on it, but under the hood was nothing to be prouf of. At the moment its all show and no go so I went ahead and picked up a B18C (Type R) with hassport mounts and adapter brackets for it and was considering doing the swap myself. The only thing is that I've never done a complete changeover before. I have swapped out a few tranny's, flywheels, clutches and suspentions before and I do have all the equipment to complete the job already including a hoist so I was thinking that should be able to handle it. The change over comes with everything from the axels to the sensors and ECU so I'm asuming that it should be pretty much plug and play. What I don't know is will I have to have any type of tuning done to it other that the norm. i.e. belts plugs and fluids? Any help/advice you guys can give would be greatly apriciated.
