Default 5th Generation, what is the model? KH, KG, KE?

I have a 1994 Accord station wagon. On the service manual, the electrical diagrams are different for different models. So far, I noticed there are 3 different models on the service manual, KH, KG, KE. How can I determine which mode my car is?

wat?

Chassis code is CE

Models would be LX or EX

Transmissions would be KA5MT, KA4AT, KL4AT, KL5MT.

You're in Georgia so my Guess is it's the KA4AT with an LX or EX

Yes, you are right. My car is LX KA4AT. However, when I check the electrical circuit diagram on the service manual, the manual always gives three different schematics labeled as KH, KG, KE model.

Hmm, I can honestly say I've never seen that before. What manual?

And what specific electronics?

It is a CD7_CD9 service manual with total 1379 pages. I am looking at page 1153 for gauge assembly circuit diagram. Between the oil pressure indication light and the oil pressure switch, there is a connection to an integrated control unit for KH model. I want to know if my car has this control unit for oil light problem. I am hoping my car is not KH model because I do not want to check this integrated control unit.

yeah, I believe that and some other things are different in those downloadable PDF manuals as compared to the printed manual you would buy from Helm Inc.

I found the location of the integrated control unit from the manual. It is attached to the underdash fuse/relay box. I will check if my car has this unit when I go back home.

Correction. The integrated control unit exists on each model. The connection to the unit is 16P for KH model and 8P for KG and KE model. For KH model, there is a oil pressure light flasher inside the unit.

I purchased a 94-97 CD ROM service manual off eBay. It included data for all Accords worldwide. To answer your initial question, KH refers to USA Accords. KG, KE, KZ, KS are European Accords. KQ is Australian, KY is Saudi Arabian. Unsure where Canada and Mexico fit, I assume they're also KH.

Don't know what the acronyms stand for specifically, but the KA is for 49 state emissions, and KL is for California emissions. (KH is for high altitude FYI)

Yes, but how can I determine which model my car is: KG or KE? There are many diffrences in the service manual ie. in weight:
KE: 2.0i LS M/T - 2910 lbs
KG: 2.0i Ls M/T - 2855 lbs
And there's no explanation in the service manual or even in the internet

Assuming its how the US ones are it should be in the car's VIN number. Or the European equivalent.

Which part of the US car's VIN number refers that the model is KH?

Well it took me a few minutes to find this but here it is:

NOTE: Abbreviations for USA, European and other model Honda Accords are listed as KH, KG, KE, KZ, KS, KQ and KY in this manual.

KH = USA, Canada & Mexico Accords.
KG, KE, KZ, KS = European Accords.
KQ = Australian Accords.
KY = Saudi Arabian Accords.

I know this is an old thread, but I search old threads for answers and this is one time I think adding info to an old post is totally appropriate.

pjschmitt,

Thanks a lot. I almost hit a deer last night. The deer hit my accord driver side front side marker light plastic cover. When I checked the pdf manual yesterday, confused by the KH, KG etc. Now I understand.
