Default New owner and question regarding Comptech supercharger

Hi everyone,

Awhile back, I picked up a 2008 Civic SI sedan in Nighthawk Black Pearl. I'm a long time Honda-Tech member, but have previously had an affinity (or curse, depending on how you look at it ), for the Integra Type R. I have owned an embarassing six of those cars.

I have no pics yet of the new car, but do have some questions regarding supplemental bolt-on modifications to maximize the potential of a Comptech supercharger.

Please keep in mind that I must retain a catalytic converter due to inspection laws in my state.

1. Which header would you recommend to maximize the potential?

2. Which catback exhaust would you recommend to maximize potential, but also minimize loudness/coffee can syndrome?

3. Which intake would you recommend to, you guessed it, maximize the potential?

I've searched and couldn't come up with responses specifically geared towards somebody needing to retain proper emissions.

Thanks in advance for your response and I look forward to learning a bunch about my new car

you are crazy.....should have kept the R....j/k

I have been pondering one of these cars for a while....Chris's(RstoR) wife has one.....I am sure he has researched the sh.t out of what to do to one......

If, I get one, the first thing I will do is change to a lightweight flywheel and change to the 5.1 final drive.....

Do that first, and go from there....

I think we both know the benefits of doing this.....

having done ats fd's on our R's and lw flywheels....

I've actually had the SI for quite awhile now. Unlike with the Type R, I don't plan to change the final/flywheel as I'll be using the car for different purposes (obviously) than the race car was used for. The final drive/flywheel was a great mod in the race car, but not something that I particularly want for my street car.

Let me know if you do end up picking up an SI. Oh, and Chris isn't married yet right? Hell, he shouldn't even be engaged yet from what he's told me!

1. Comptech "shorty" header (retains catalytic converter)

2. LSD exhaust. Maximizes potential, but might have a little of that coffee can tone.

3. Injen or Fujita Short Ram Intake...gets you decent gains while still protecting against hydrolocking from a Cold Air Intake.
