Default head gasket?

im wondering if my head gasket is done-for. sorry in advance for a long post. i recently swapped in a d15b motor from nippon-motors. i noticed that i have water coming out of my exhast (i put water in my radiator instead of coolant for now). also when i bought the motor and put it in i noticed that the thermostat had the center piece missing (someone cut it out b/c their car was over-heating im thinking). what do you guys think?

If your oil looks milky, your head gasket is done.

Now, is white smoke (water) constantly coming out of your exhaust while it is running?
